Work with 250 Collective

Consulting for the local church.

Strategy, systems, and a guide who has pastored a church your size.

This is the main thing we do. We come to your church, sit where a guest sits, listen to your leaders, and help you build a church that makes disciples and doesn't run on one person. The software is a byproduct. The work is this.

How it starts

Every engagement begins the same way, and it's free.

You take the Church Vitality Check, we read it together on a 15-minute call, and then we tell you honestly which of the options below fits, if any. Some churches take the plan from the call and run with it themselves. That's a good outcome too.

01

The Vitality Check

Three minutes. How much runs on the pastor, and what a first-time guest actually experiences.

02

A real conversation

Fifteen minutes with someone who has pastored a church your size. No pitch.

03

We name the fit

An intensive, a build, coaching, the cohort, or nothing yet. You'll hear it straight.

04

We do the work together

On-site, with your leaders in the room. A system the church owns when we leave.

Ways to work together

Pick the door that fits where your church is.

Four ways in. All of them are built for churches of 250 and under, and three of them happen on-site, because you can't learn a church from a Zoom window. The prices below are founding rates for our first five churches; the standard rate is beside each one.

The 90-Day Build

Follow-upCheck-ins until it holds
  • Visit one: assess. The Vitality Check, the guest path walked, the load mapped.
  • Visit two: design. What is a disciple here, and what is our system for building one? The path from the back row to serving and leading, drawn with your team.
  • Visit three: install. Guest follow-up, care, volunteer teams, and who owns each one. Written down, not in heads.

For: a pastor who is tired of being the system, and a team willing to become it.

Founding rate$3,600$6,000Three payments of $1,200, one per visit. Plus travel at cost; none within driving distance of Gainesville, GA.

For: a pastor who doesn't want to figure it out alone anymore.

Founding rate$200/month$300/monthThree-month minimum, then month to month. Cancel any time after that.
Why the founding rate, honestly. 250 Collective is a new practice built on thirty years of pastoring, and we'd rather earn our first testimonials than charge as if we already had them. The first five churches get the work at the founding rate. In return we ask for two things: honest feedback along the way, and, if it helped, a few sentences we can share with the next pastor. When the five are spoken for, the standard rate applies. Everything here is priced for churches under 250; we will never quote you a number that assumes a staff of twelve. And if money is still the thing in the way, say so on the call. We'll find a way.
The 250 Cohort · January 2027

Six months with six to ten pastors who get it.

The same framework as the Build, worked through together, with pastors of churches your size. You get the strategy and you get the room, the part most pastors have never had.

Once a month the cohort meets by video for ninety minutes. Each quarter you get a one-on-one with Pastor Steve. And we open the whole thing with a day together in person in Gainesville, Georgia, because the friendships are half the point.

The Collective · Coming soon · Free

A place for pastors of the local church. No pitch, no platform.

The Collective is the community behind the name. Pastors of churches under 250 who don't want to figure it out alone. Free to join when it opens, and it will stay free.

What it will be: a place to ask the question you can't ask your board, swap what's actually working, and find out you're not the only one. What it won't be: another feed. We'd rather it be small and real than big and quiet.

Questions pastors ask

The honest answers.

Do you actually come to us?

Yes. The Intensive and the Build are on-site, because you can't learn a church from a Zoom window. We're based in north Georgia and travel anywhere in the US. Travel is billed at cost, and there's none if you're within driving distance.

What does it cost?

The prices are on this page, on purpose. Founding rates for our first five churches: $1,500 for the Intensive, $3,600 for the 90-Day Build, $200 a month for coaching, $900 for the January cohort; the call and the community are free. Travel is at cost and waived within driving distance of Gainesville, GA. After the first five churches, the standard rates beside each one apply. If cost is the only thing in the way, say so on the call. We'd rather find a way than have you go without.

Who needs to be in the room?

For the call and coaching, just you. For the Intensive and the Build, you and the people who actually carry the church: staff if you have them, board members, key volunteers. The systems get built by the team, or they don't get built.

Does denomination matter?

No. We work with churches across traditions. What we bring is strategy and systems for the local church, not a doctrinal program.

Is this going to make me feel guilty?

No. We've carried what you carry. The whole approach starts from the belief that the church was built to make disciples and the pastor was never meant to be the system. Naming that is relief, not shame.

What about the software?

The Pilot line (carepilot.church, guestpilot.church) is the same load-sharing thinking turned into tools the church runs on. Some churches use it, some don't. It's never required.

Start with the free call. You'll hear it straight.

Fifteen minutes with someone who has pastored a church your size. We'll tell you honestly what fits, even if the answer is "not yet."
